Popular Travel Destinations for 2021

2020 was not the year for travel. Travel was at a complete standstill and everyone was forced to stay home to stay healthy.

If you are itching to get your travel on, you are probably wondering what some of the most popular travel locations are going to be this year.

While there are still important precautions in place to make sure everyone stays safe, travel restrictions have been lifted and recreational travel is allowed again.

However, as people are still a little skeptical about traveling, some of the most desirable tourist locations will be less crowded than normal. Here are four of the most desirable travel locations of 2021.

Alaska

If you are looking to stay in the United States, the coast of Alaska is a beautiful location. For starters, Alaska has the Northern Lights.

The best time to see the Northern Lights is in the winter, so it is best to keep that in mind if seeing them is on top of your list.

Alaska also has an incredible number of glaciers. It is estimated that there are more than 100,000 glaciers in the state of Alaska, and tons of them can be accessed by visitors. Some of these glaciers include:

  • Byron Glacier
  • Matanuska Glacier
  • Exit Glacier
  • and so many more

You will also witness some of the most amazing wildlife. You might run into moose, caribou, eagles, bears, just about any kind of animal you might think of. Denali National Park is an excellent place to get a glimpse of amazing Alaskan wildlife. Alaska is also famous for its humpback whales.

Kenya

Kenya is an amazing place to visit wide open and majestic landscapes. For example, if you visit the country between July and October, you might get to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration. Thousands of wildebeests migrate in Kenya and it is incredible to watch.

It is well known that Kenya is one of the best places to watch wildlife in all of Africa. It is home to what is known as the Big Five, which includes the African elephant, African lion, Cape buffalo, white/black rhinos, and the African leopard. If you are lucky, you might spot the Big Five on your trip.

Kenya also has some breathtaking beaches with white sand and clear, turquoise water. The coastlines are quite literally what dreams are made of and you won’t ever want to leave. Lamu Island even has some 13th-century architecture that has stood the test of time.

The British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands is a popular travel location in the Caribbean. They have warm weather the entire year, making it a literal paradise.

There are so many coves, secluded bays, beautiful landscapes, and the sun is always shining. You will easily be able to see why everyone falls in love with this destination.

One of the best places to visit in the Virgin Islands is Necker Island. The island is known for being extremely eco-friendly. In one year, the island raised three new wind turbines, which allowed the island to run 80% off of renewable energy.

Another great place to visit is Smuggler’s Cove Beach in Tortola. It is the perfect getaway from the busy tourist scene of the island. You will find that it is secluded and undeveloped without any shops, resorts, or even bathrooms.

New York City

New York City is one place every person should visit at least once in their lifetime.

It is one of the world’s largest metropolises for fashion, food, art, and theater. Whether you are going for a short trip or an extended trip, you will have plenty to do. The hardest part is choosing what you will do while you are there.

Some of the must-see places in New York include the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo. The Botanical Garden is located at the Bronx Park and is a major educational institution for plants and ecology. The Bronx Zoo is massive and has a wide variety of animals living in award-winning exhibits.

New York also has an abundance of art museums. The most famous museums are the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim. There are also several other unique museums scattered across the city.

If you are a fan of the theater, you will have to visit Broadway, the world’s most famous street. Broadway is 13 miles long and cuts diagonally from Bowling Green to Inwood, where it crosses into the Bronx. Broadway is also a shorthand for the 41 theaters that are scattered around Times Square in Manhattan.

Conclusion

Now that borders are reopened and travel is allowed again, you might be dying to head off on your next adventure.

There are so many great and intriguing places to visit across the world, it can be overwhelming to choose where you want to go. In this article, we discussed the four most popular places to visit in 2021.

The top four places to visit include Alaska, Kenya, the British Virgin Islands, and New York City. Each of these places is different, but they all offer something unique and unforgettable.
